Tracking changes to instances of OIDs

Many different devices report SNMP values in tables. The instances from these tables are used by OverTime to identify the information you want to collect. Sometimes, the device renumbers these instances and unless the collections are also adjusted then data for the wrong object is collected. ottrack provides a way to keep dynamically align the collected data based on some other referenced information.

Example:

Suppose you had traffic information coming in on interfaces represented by OID instances and the device could change these instances but the interfaces could be identified by their unique MAC address that the device synchronized with the new instances. Keeping track of the unique MACs would identify how the old instances related to the new. ottrack will do this.
